Seattle's vibrant dance community provided the reason for me to pick up my camera several years back.
Since then I've been capturing the fun and energy on the social dance scene. Photographing fast-moving dancers under less than ideal lighting conditions has also given me a chance to grow as a photographer.
I'm currently enjoying a range of photographic activities, from portraits, to group shots and event photography.
My current project is the Community Dance Photo series - this is turning out to be a great way for the dance community to reconnect, if only in a virtual way
Dance Photo Project
Virtual, contact-free dancing in the park
The Community Dance Photo project began in July 2020. I safely photographed individual dancers from the Seattle dancing community - outdoors in the park, maintaining social distancing protocols. I photographed individuals and a few couples on different days and times, over the course of around three weeks.
Gathering the collection of photographs, I then stitched them together using Photoshop to create virtual outdoor dance events.
